Dear Friends of HFRC,
Greetings to you in the Spring of 2010!! Let us all go outdoor to enjoy the beautiful creation our Lord has given to us.
HFRC has provided 592 services to 426 community members in 2009. 243 out of these 426 community members are new contacts. Many people express gratitude because of the hope and joy they can obtain from an Organization serving the Chinese single parents.
In the new year of 2010, there will be some changes in HFRC. It is stressful on one hand, yet joyful on the other. What is stressful is the ending of the fund provided for HFRC in the past 3 years. HFRC has to look for more new funding. Please pray for this need.
Even though the budget is tightened, the coworkers and volunteers are still giving themselves wholeheartedly and in one accord to the community needs. HFRC starts her week with a prayer meeting on each Tuesday morning. God provides new volunteers miraculously. So far, the HFRC website is completed with new functions of Register Online and Donation Online. The Director of HFRC, Ann Zhou, is teaching 6 sessions of the Parenting Classes at two local churches. May God lead each step.
The first Workshop of HFRC is on March 6th. The theme was: “ The Basic Maintenance of Your Car and the Safe Driving Principles”. More than 60 community members and youth participated. They were eager to learn. The Workshop satisfied the needs of the community and was greatly praised.
Good news:
- The 2nd “Life Rebuilding Retreat” on April 16th to 18th. We believe this Retreat will be used by God and to bring healing to the broken spirit. Since some express the need to join the Retreat but lack of the funds, HFRC would like to call for the love offering to support the friends in need. The following are the comments from the 1st Life Rebuilding Retreat:- What I have learned in the 3 days is much greater than I learned in the past years. I was confined with self-pity; self-deceiving; and inferiority. This Retreat set me free. I am happy as if I have won a first prize. My heart is filled with joy and peace….
- I have never thought I need any healing. This Retreat revealed the unhealthy parts in my inner being…
We would like to encourage you or the friends around you to come and join the Retreat to refresh our life and regain the hope to live vigorously. - HFRC continues her services in Active Listening in 2010. Due to the increasing demands, the need of recruiting and training of the coworkers and volunteers who provide the Active Listening increases also. The training is the main focus of HFRC in 2010. The writing and editing of the curriculum is underway. HFRC needs to build strong and stable Team of Coworkers and Volunteers.
- The invitation for the Life Rebuilding Retreat; the financial support; and the Spiritual and Physical strength of all the coworkers.
- The two grant proposals submitted by HFRC. May HFRC be blessed in the eyes of the grantors.
- The curriculums undergoing by the HFRC coworkers.
- The Parenting series by Ann Zhou at two churches on March 7th, 13th, 14th, 21st and 28th.
