Peace to you, the friend of HFRC,

Time flies. It is the end of 2011 already! In this year, more people with broken marriages or parent-child relationships have come to HFRC for help. Those who are suffering but not healed not only bear the burden of anger; bitterness; depression or even twisted mind in themselves, but also destroy the relationship with their next generation. It is a huge loss of our society.

In order to accompany and help the broken hearted, HFRC devotes itself persistently to build a team of love and proficiency as well as to provide services to the needy people so that they can be healed and rebuilt. In the past 10 month, HFRC has 20 professional trainings for all the eleven volunteers along with an ongoing evaluation of their strengths. In April, we held the 3rd annual Life Rebuilding Retreat for 41 people followed with 12 support groups and series class of Anger Management. In addition to that, HFRC has provided 1188 services for 834 people so far this year through Community Workshops and Active Listening sessions. The quantity of the HFRC services has doubled in 2011. The length of each of the arranged active listening sessions has also increased from 3 times last year to 6 times this year. With the limited financial and personnel resources, both the width and the depth of the HFRC services have improved.

In the middle of this March, a desperate gentleman called HFRC to inquire about the Life Rebuilding Retreat. Even though he knew it had passed the deadline to register, he did it anyway because he had come to the bottom of his life and he had given up all the hope already. He said, “God’s grace is like water. Water flows to the lowest spot. The lower it gets, the more the water flows. I was at my lowest. I have gained the most. I was filled with my own anger before. I was like a walking dead in the past three years. But now, God opened my eyes to see that He has given the best to me already. I want to thank HFRC for the Life Rebuilding Retreat. In the Retreat, I learned to get to know myself. Gradually, I see the re-birth of my faith which I thought I had lost. Little by little, I am filled with the peace and joy. If I have not been broken, I would never understand the love of God. I wish our tears will flow to eternity and it will never be lost.”

After the Life Rebuilding Retreat, this gentleman attended the complete 12 sessions of the support group and the Anger Management class. In one of the activities in September 2011, he volunteered to take the responsibility as the Stage Manager and contributed greatly.

In only 6 months, a person is transformed from a self-pity, depressed and numb one into a humorous speaking, fast thinking, and vigorous new being. Beyond that, he is able to give and serve freely. He is a blessing to many others. Many more reviving life changes had happened at HFRC. The team of HFRC will continue to accompany the people in need. We are thankful that HFRC is able to bless the families of our community.

Good news:

1. HFRC has made the lectures of the Anger Management classes and the seminars of the Prevention and Treatment of Depression into DVD. If you would like to have one set, please contact HFRC.

2. In order to extend the active listening ministry, HFRC would like to provide professional counseling training for the churches around the Bay Area so that the brothers and sisters who have the gift of caring can be cultivated. Please call HFRC office if interested. The training period is from Jan. 10 to March 20, 2012.

3. The 4th annual Life Rebuilding Retreat will be held at Feb 17 to 19 (Friday to Sunday), 2012. Many attended friends were benefited from last year’s retreat. Following are some of the feedbacks:

• “What I have learned in three days are more than what I had in the past years. I have always suffered the self-pity; self-deceiving; and self-inferiority. Now, I regained my lost strength. I feel like I have hit a jackpot. I am filled with joy and peace…..”

• “I came with a mind of speculation, I could not believe I have gained so much….”

• “I have never thought I would need healing. From this retreat, I found that there still are many unhealthy areas in my mind…..”

If you would like to experience the breakthrough like the above friends or if you need a relief and healing in your mind, please do not hesitate to join the 4th annual Life Rebuilding Retreat. The quota is limited. Please see the details on the flyer or call us at 510-790-3366.

HFRC does not have routine financial resources, we plead your help for the needy families and give them hope for their next generation. The budget for HFRC is $120,000/year. When you donate, please indicate payable to HFRC. We will provide receipt for tax purposes.
